Sunday School teachers serving in a Christian Preschool Ministry should
consider preparing a schedule when planning the days activities.
 | Even though preparing a schedule may not be any fun, there are advantages.
 | All the information will be covered before time runs out. |
 | No dead time. All time will be filled with worthwhile
activities. |
 | With the class planned, you will be more relaxed and able to enjoy the
children on Sunday. |
|
 | Plan to be there at least 15 minutes before class is scheduled to
begin. You can visit with early arrivers and get set up before class
starts. |
 | Be sure to take the time to visit with each child each Sunday.
 | Listen. Learn about their families,
their successes, their concerns. |
 | Encourage. Show your support for
the things they do. |
 | Praise. Everyone likes a pat on the
back for a job well done. |
|
 | Snack Time. Snacks as simple as
crackers and water are as good as gold to children that skipped
breakfast. Students with satisfied tummies are better listeners and
learners. During Snack Time, the students can also get to know each
other and you. |
 | An activity which requires the children to sit should be followed by an
activity that allows them to get up and release some energy. |
 | Prevent boredom by using different Teaching Techniques
during the class. |
 | Repetition is good.
Consider using a variety of different activities that all reinforce the
lesson for the day. |

Set up four different activity
centers in different areas of the room and encourage the children to
spend time in each of the areas. Example activity centers include a Home Living Center, a coloring center, a play-dough
center, and a Bible Story Activity center. See Beginning and
Ending Activities and Bible Story Activities for ideas. |

Get to Know Each Other -- Form
a circle and ask each child to say their name. Ask a different fun
question each Sunday. For example, what is your favorite color,
favorite place to visit, favorite food, etc. |
